Hi and welcome to Avalon One.

We are a handful of individuals that enjoy the outdoors, camping, backpacking etc. Although maybe we haven't been and done as much as we would like to of recent and totally out of shape. Therefore, a decision was made, that for 2020 all that changes [that was the message we put out in January 2020]. Little did we know just how much things were going to change - COVID! Anyway, the slow start was inevitable and hopefully we are past the worst now.

Now we are in 2022 and hope for a better year for all, and a fresh start of a new web site, Blog & Vlog on YouTube.

Whilst we have a wealth of experience in the outdoor environment we may be somewhat lacking in the photography department, having relied on mobile phones in the past and that ‘just on the spur of the moment'.

Not much use when trying to do a Vlog and YouTube channel, (he say's tongue in cheek), so that changes also. Equipment has been bought, played with, (not broken yet) and although 'all the gear, no idea' is exactly what it is right now, you can enjoy being with us from the start whilst we are learning, making mistakes, bad and good photos and videos. But laugh with us when we do make the proverbial 'F-up' - I can guarantee there will be a few of those, especially after a few beers round a camp fire.

The thinking behind all this was simply: we enjoy the outdoors, are totally unfit (that needs to change lol), have a general interest in Camping, backpacking, wild camping, bush craft, local history, green lane and trail driving, 4 x 4 & ATV, photography, (as said total beginners on this one), etc. and many other things have also been requested and so thought lets try and wrap it all up into one.

We hope to make this interactive also, and share routes, maps, events etc. as and when. We will also try to introduce ‘members’ Blogs and Vlogs etc. and put them on this site or our YouTube channel.

This is not a professional outfit, and not our full time occupation. We all have full time jobs and this is our hobby. Hopefully in a few months or years there will be a wealth of material on line for us to share with you all)
